In the original construction, the handle and lock consist of a single v-shaped spring. The handle and blade are just connected on one side, a relatively weak connection. For the Dejavu knives a spacer with a screw was placed right next to the blade shaft. Both hold a small counter-plate. Thus the blade shaft is connected on both sides, just like a regular folder, which distributes the load symmetrically. This makes the knife much more stable without compromising the clean and slender character of this design. Handle scales are classic Cocobolo, blade steel is 440C stainless, includes tip-up clip. The knife can be opened one handed.
