At Sports Hut, we provide professional gunsmithing services for all makes and types of firearms. Whether you're a recreational shooter, competitive marksman, primary producer, or part of the security industry, we offer comprehensive repairs and maintenance.
Located in Launceston, Tasmania, our skilled gunsmith provides a full range of custom and general services, including but not limited to:

By law – we are not permitted to work on any unregistered firearms.
Firearm Storage
At Sports Hut we offer storage of firearms. Our storage cost is $20 per month per firearm. Firearms can be dropped in for storage during all trading hours, no need to book in.
Our storage service is provided for long term storage including holidays, moving to or from interstate, moving house, licence suspension and deceased estates.
Storing your firearms does not replace the need to have a personal safe, as we do not allow collection and drop off of storage firearms on a frequent basis.
When storing firearms at Sports Hut it is required to call a minimum of 24 hours before you plan on collecting them, to allow us time to retrieve them from our storage facility.
Interstate transfer
We can act as the transferring dealer for all interstate transfers of firearms.
Please note due to prohibitive cost of dangerous goods freight we do not facilitate the interstate transfer of ammunition.
Scope fitting
We offer scope fitting services for all firearms purchased instore, a $40 charge will be incurred if the scope was not purchased from Sports Hut. This service includes bore-sighting.
